Obituary

Harold Fendell, 81, a resident of Revere & the owner of Calendar Refrigeration of Revere, died on March 21, 2007 at the Radius Health Care Center in Danvers.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Aleck & Sarah (Gusenoff) Fendell, Harold was raised in the Mattapan section of Boston, attended & graduated from the Boston Public Schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy on June 29, 1943 & began active duty on September 11, 1943 in Boston. During the war, Harold served in Pensacola, FL, Bainbridge, MD, & San Diego, CA. He earned the rank of Seaman First Class & was awarded the World War II Victory Medal & the American Theatre Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1946, Harold returned home & founded the Calendar Refrigeration Co. in Revere which he continued to operate until his death.

Husband of Ann (Boxer) Fendell, he is also survived by his son, Dennis Fendell & his wife Debbi of Natick & his grandchildren, Melissa, Allison, & Brian. He was the father of the late Marsha Crisostamo & brother of the late Pearl Fendell Field.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 1:00 PM in the B’Nai Israel of Beachmont Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett. Memorial observance will be private. Donations in Harold’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
