ELIZABETH E. (WALKER) PURDY, of Quincy, formerly of Weymouth and Braintree, died on Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 at the William B Rice Eventide Home in Quincy. She was 88. Mrs. Purdy was born in Boston where she was raised and educated, graduating from the Jeremiah Burke High School. She lived in Weymouth for 30 years and then Braintree for 20 years before moving to Quincy a year ago. For many years, Mrs. Purdy has been an active member of The Church of St. John the Evangelist in Hingham where she served as president of the Episcopal Church Womens Club.
Wife of the late William E. Purdy, she leaves her two sons; Douglas C. Purdy of Scituate and Bruce J. Purdy of Hull. Also survived by 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday, May 31st, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, 172 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Church of St. John the Evangelist Needlepoint Guild.
