Mary L. Doyle, a life-long Medford resident, died Tuesday at Coyne Healthcare Center, Rockland. She was 87.
Mrs. Doyle was born and raised in Medford, the daughter of the late Dominick J. and the late Mary A. (Kearns) Doyle. After nursing school, Mary served with the Army during World War II and took care of wounded soldiers. After the war she remained in the reserves and became a nurse in the Medford Public Schools serving in South Medford’s local schools, the Columbus, Tufts, Kennedy and Lincoln. She also worked as a nurse at Winthrop House Nursing Center. A member of Saint Joseph Parish Sodality, Mary was also a volunteer at the Youville Hospital and Saint Francis House.
She was the sister of Ann Henderson of West Yarmouth, the late Walter, Domenic, James, Edward, Lawrence, Thomas, Joseph, Winifred Doyle and Eleanor Reid. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit Saturday at 8 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral mass will follow at 9 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
