Loretta A. Larkin, 47, died March 19th in the Brigham’s & Women’s Hospital after a lenthy illness. She was the daughter of E. Shirley Larkin and the late Ralph J. Larkin.
Born in Boston, she lived in Dorchester, until the age of 12, then moving to Whitman, where she has resided ever since. Loretta was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson class of 1977.
Loretta was a secretary for the Disabled American Veterans and loved working with them for many years.
She traveled to Barbados where she spent months at a time. She also enjoyed cruising, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, E. Shirley Larkin of Whitman, her brothers and sisters, Ralph J. Larkin, Jr. of Taunton, Robert Larkin of Queens, NY., Shirley Larkin of Whitman and Lynn Raymond and her husband Kenneth of New Ipswich, NH; her nieces and nephew of Erin Ward, Ralph Larkin, III and her great nephew of Nicholas Duquette, she was also the daughter of the Ralph J. Larkin.
Her funeral services will be held from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, Saturday March 24th at 10:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in the St Bridget’s Church Abington, MA., at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery Whitman, MA. Visiting hours will be held Friday March 23rd 2-4 & 7-9.
