Obituary

Frances C. (Connell) (Noone) Doyle 75 years, died Tuesday morning at her home under the care of hospice after a lengthy illness. She was born in Brockton, the daughter of the Francis J. and Mary (Akstin) Connell. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton and a graduate of Brockton High School. Mrs. Doyle was primarily an at home mother who had worked as an executive secretary at Reebok Shoe. Fran was an avid golfer and long-time member of the Thorny Lea Golf Club where she won many tournaments including the Brockton City Championships in 1964. In her youth, she enjoyed playing with her brother Ed who was the Massachusetts State Amateur Champion in 1955 and 1956. She was also a lifelong jazz vocalist and pianist and performed in many local cabarets. In her later years, she enjoyed many trips with her husband Al in their private plane. Her love of flying led her to take flying lessons at the age of 63, after which she became competent enough to take over the controls. She purchased a book on “Fly-In” golf courses so that she and Al could combine their love of flying and golf. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Albert P. Doyle, three daughters, Laura (Noone) DeSisto and her husband Todd of Cohasset; Cynthia (Noone) D’Amato and her husband Richard of Scituate and Kathleen (Noone) Mendoza and her husband Dan of Manchester, New Hampshire, a stepson Mark Doyle and his wife Dorothy of Marlboro, NJ., several grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a sister, Ruth M. Connell of Hyannis.

She was the sister of the late Edward F. Connell.
