Obituary

Taunton- Vincent Damon, 70, of Taunton, formerly of Bridgewater, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at his home.

Born April 6, 1936, in Brockton, he was the son of the late George E. and Johanna M. (Dermody) Damon and was raised there.

A cloistered Monk, Mr. Damon was a graduate of Paracletes Seminary. He went into the monastery in 1953.

He was an assistant assessor for the town of Bridgewater for more than 20 years, retiring in 2002.

Mr. Damon was the organist at St. Thomas Aquinas Church for over 20 years, where he was also choir director and taught CCD.

He had lived in Taunton for the past 14 years, coming from Bridgewater.

Mr. Damon enjoyed horticulture, rare plants and music. He also showed dogs in dog shows and loved Himalayan Blue Cream Point cats.

He was the God father of Douglas Wilbur of Taunton; long time loving friend of Marie Amelotte of Bridgewater; brother of Pauline Ashley of West Bridgewater. Also survived by longstanding friends, the Sweetman family and Fr. Barry Bossa.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater, Thursday at 9 am. Visiting hours omitted. Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
