DUDLEY- Lorraine E. (Gion) Cregg, 70, of 8 June Street, died Monday, March 19, at Hubbard Regional Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves her husband of 45 years, Francis X. Cregg; a daughter, Christine A. Cregg of Dudley; a son, David W. Cregg and his wife Susie of Culver City, CA; a sister, Diane Bugan of Webster; a granddaughter, Hanna Rose Hattabaugh of Dudley; nieces and nephews.
She was born in Webster, the daughter of William and M. Rose (Vanasse) Gion and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1955.
Mrs. Cregg was a bookkeeper at Hubbard Regional Hospital for 14 years. She then worked at Dwyer’s Restaurant for 20 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church. She organized all her high school class reunions since her graduation. She enjoyed country music and reading.
The funeral will be held Saturday, March 24, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, March 23, in the funeral home.
