Obituary

Methuen, MA - Stanley J. Piekarski, 87, died Saturday March 17, 2007 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Born in Lawrence Mr. Piekarski was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of “1937”. He went on to attend the University of Maryland.

He served in the United States Army during World War II, earning National Defense and Korean Defense Medals, including Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Commendation Medal, Presidential Citation, European Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars and Combat Infantry Badge.
After 20 years Mr. Piekarski retired from the Army as master Sergeant and was employed at Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA) as senior Technical Instructor until his retirement.

Stanley served on the Board of Directors & Captain of Honor Guards & Trustee with the Arnold Greenwood Post # 8349 (VFW) and a member of the Queen City Chapter (DAV).
Survivors include one daughter Patricia L. and her husband Robert Brown of Hampton, Connecticut his former wife Louise E. (Smith) Piekarski of Beaufort, N.C. one sister Edna Kiver of Methuen, three grandchildren Ashley, Kayla, and Hunter Brown of Hampton,Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will take place on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen
