Evelyn Scott Sanderson, 71, of Tifton died Monday, March 19, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Sanderson was born on May 5, 1935 in Ocilla and was the daughter of Archie Scott and Annie Woods Scott, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sanderson; three brothers; and two sisters. She was retired from Holiday Inn, where she was the evening restaurant hostess for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Sanderson is survived by three sons, Larry O'Neal of Tifton, Ricky O'Neal of Tifton and Gary O'Neal of Tifton; one daughter, Darlene Griffin of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Roberts of Alapaha; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
