Donald "Hugh" Shaw, Sr., 66, of Enigma, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at his residence. Funerals services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson. Rev. Bobby Rodgers will officiate with burial to follow in Broxton City Cemetery in Broxton. Donny Smith, Keith Dorminey, Guy McClung, Taylor Shaw, Danny Dorminy, Scott Evans, Ken Goodwin, Michael Shaw and Jed Lee will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Truman Claunch, Ray Stewart, Lawrence Webb, Ray Hunt and Troy Massey. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 19, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Shaw was born on January 22, 1941 in Guin, Alabama and was the son of Clarence Shaw and Clara Akers Shaw, both deceased. He was owner and operator of Shaw's Marina and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Carol Burdett Shaw of Cordele; two sons, Donald Hugh Shaw, Jr. of Atlanta and Michael Hunt of Cordele; two daughters, Sylvia McClung of Enigma and Lesa Breazeale of Leesburg; two brothers, Lynn Shaw of Brookfield and Hoyt Shaw of Tifton; one sister, Nell Smith of Waco, Texas; and six grandchildren.
