Laconia-Rita L. Morin, 77, of 406 Court Street, formerly of 416 Union Avenue, died Saturday afternoon, March 17th, 2007 at St. Francis Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness.
Rita was the daughter of the late Valmore and Maria (Cyr) Lucier. She was born in Laconia on October 24th, 1929 where she was raised and schooled, living most of her life in Laconia with 2 years spent living in California.
Prior to her retirement Rita was a bank teller at the former Peoples National Bank, and First NH Bank, now known as Citizens Bank. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia, a member of the Ladies of Sacred Heart, as well as a Den Mother for the Boy Scout Troop at Sacred Heart Church. She was also a dedicated volunteer at St. Francis Healthcare Center. Rita was also graduate of Laconia High School.
Rita is predeceased by one son, Douglas Morin; one brother, Conrad Lucier; and one sister, Fernande Plizga.
Rita is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alexander A. Morin of Laconia; five children, Daniel Morin and his wife Colleen of St. Paul, MN, Donna Much of New York, NY, David Morin and his wife Charlene of Laconia, Darcia Anderson and her husband Donald of Raymond, NH, and Dennis Morin and his wife Julie of Laconia; four brothers, Richard “Ty” Lucier and his wife Arline of Laconia, Donald Lucier and his wife Ruby of Tilton, Victor Lucier and his wife Mary of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Edgar Lucier and his wife Doris of Duluth, GA; one sister, Arlene LaPlante and her husband Roger of Spring Hills, FL; seven grandchildren, Jesse and Eli Morin, Melissa Morin and Andrea Weeks, Juliana and Ethan Much, and Sarah Morin. Many nieces and nephews also survive Rita.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday March 21st , 2007 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the mass. A visiting hour preceded the mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend. Entombment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel, Garfield Street, Laconia to await spring burial in the family lot.
