Beloved father of Joseph Silvey and his wife Mary of California, Janet Silvey of Marlboro, the late Thomas Silvey. Father-in-law of Chunga Silvey of California. Brother of the late Frank Silvey, William Silvey, Lillian Woodside, Roland Silvey, Adeline Knapton Dorothy McKinnon and Mildred Hughes. Cherished grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 7. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Tuesday morning, March 20th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden. Late United States Army Veteran of WW II.
Born in East Boston and a long time Malden resident, Joseph at 89 years of age, passed away at the Woodbriar of Wilmington where he had been receiving supportive care. For many years, he was employed by the federal government as a customs official, serving mostly out of the Customs House in Boston. The last 10 years prior to retirement were spent with the U.S. Treasury at the Boston office of the division of disbursement.
