WORCESTER__ Zofia (Zielinski) Moniak, 85, died Monday, March 12, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband Waclaw Moniak died in 1994.
She leaves two sons, Stanley G. Moniak and his wife Virginia of Auburn and Stephen A. Moniak and his wife Krystyna of Worcester; three sisters, Irena Stepien, Miroslawa Lorenc and Leokadja Kline, all of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Alexander, Kira, Derek, Christopher, Thomas, John, Matthew and Kathleen, two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Gavin and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Poland, daughter of Stanislaw and Stanislawa (Chomicz) Zielinski and later lived in England and Argentina before coming to Worcester in 1955.
Mrs. Moniak was educated in Poland and worked as a housekeeper for 27 years at State Mutual Life Assurance Company. She retired in 1987. Zofia was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held on Friday, March 16 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, March 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
