Great grandfather of Evan and Troy of Arizona.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm.
Obituary Information
Mr. Sturtevant died Tuesday morning at the Northeast Specialty Care Hospital in Stoughton after a period of failing health. Born in Brockton, a son of the late Simeon and Jennie (Woodward) Sturtevant. He was a graduate of Brockton High School. During WW II he served in the US Army as a Tech Fifth Grade and received a purple heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 35, VFW, DAV and member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Sturtevant had been employed by The New England Telephone Company until his retirement in 1982. He was also an avid golfer, and a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Mr. Sturtevant was the last of six children.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Morton) Sturtevant, 2 sons, James M. Sturtevant of Arizona and Charles E. Sturtevant of Hanson, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late, Ruth Mortimer, Helen Stoddard, Evelyn Iotte, Harold and Norman Sturtevant.
