John J. Cataldo passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on March 12, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. He was 72 years old.
The son of Italian immigrants, John was born and raised in Medford. He attended Medford High School and continued to make Medford his home after his marriage to Delores (Massaro) Cataldo, his wife of fifty years.
John owned and operated Cataldo Electric for over forty years and was a past member of the Medford Elks and My Pals Club. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family and friends at Cape Cod and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In addition to his beloved wife Delores, John leaves behind his two daughters, Doreen Meador and her husband Craig of Wakefield and Denise Brogna and her husband Anthony of Medford. He was the loving brother of James Cataldo of Everett, Carlo Cataldo of Winchester and the late Angelo, Richard and Salvatore Cataldo and Margaret Barnes. John was also the cherished grandfather of Kendra Meador and Dominique and Toni Brogna. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday, March 15th at 8:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, March 14th from 4-8 pm. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Malden.
