Obituary

BEVERLY: Mary T. (Norton) McMahon, 85, died Friday, February 9, 2007 in the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Benjamin J. McMahon who died in March of 1997.
Born in Dorchester on December 4, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Catherine (Murphy) Norton. She was a lifelong resident of Beverly.
Mary was employed as an assembler at Hotwatt in Danvers for many years before retiring in the late 1980’s. She enjoyed cake decorating and was known for her great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia I. Levasseur and her companion, Bruce Burke, Kathleen A. and her husband, Kenneth Dodge all of Beverly, two sons, Benjamin J. McMahon, Jr. and his partner Gerard Csaposs of Orleans and Michael J. and his wife, Sandra McMahon of Salem, seven grandchildren, Benjamin and Peter Bowden, Bryan Dodge, Karen Bergeron, Jennifer Osborne, Ellen Brown and Erik McMahon, twelve great-grandchildren, Ashley Berube, Cody Rothwell, Paige, Samantha and Danielle Bowden, Dakota and Lily McMahon, Kolten Brown, John Bergeron, Haley Osborne, Chris Sullivan and Elissa Dodge, a niece, Shirley Haynes and a nephew, Francis Haynes. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Alan Bowden, Jr., a sister, Anna Haynes and three brothers, Thomas, John and Michael Norton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday from the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 10:30 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, Beverly at 11:30 A.M. Visiting hours will be held in the Grondin Funeral Home on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
