Obituary

New Bedford – John E. Wordell, Jr., 71, of New Bedford died at home on March 9, 2007.

Mr. Wordell was born in Taunton, son of the late John E. and Lottie (Westgate) Wordell, and resided most of his life in Taunton, living the past 20 years in New Bedford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a machine operator by the Bacon Felt Co. Inc. in Taunton for 20 years until leaving due to disability. He was an avid collector.

Survivors include 3 sons: John E. Wordell III of New Bedford, Gary L. DeMoranville of Fall River and Glenn J. Wordell of Taunton; 3 daughters: Irene L. Meack of E. Taunton, Helen M. Wordell of Taunton and Jean R. Wordell of Taunton; a brother: Leroy Wordell of Fall River; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

He was father of the late Lottie Wordell.

Visiting hours on Thursday, March 15, 2007, 5-8 PM

Funeral services on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10 AM at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.

Interment in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
