Hampton Falls, NH: Joyce A. (Brewer) Poor, 73, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Poor who died in 1994.
Born in Beverly on May 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ethel (Robinson) Brewer. She had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Rowley and spent the last several months living in Hampton Falls.
Joyce was a 1951 graduate of Beverly High School and was an active member of the Class of 1951 Reunion Committee. Recently in July she attended her 55th class reunion. For many years Joyce was a homemaker and active with the girl scouts and brownies. She worked as a sales associate for the former Patti Anne Shoppe in Salem and as a receptionist for Dr. Peter Frasca Dental practice in Beverly. She had a passion for arts and crafts, knitting, baking and shopping. She also was a long term season ticket holder for the Beverly Music Theater.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Kristen and Peter Pietrini of West Palm Beach, Fl., Karen Cleveland and David Ainsworth of North Conway, NH, Kim and Tom Colacchio of Hampton Falls, NH and Kathryn and Armando Furtado of Rowley. She also is survived by six grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law, George L. and Erna Brewer of Palm City, FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her son Kevin A. Poor Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 12th in the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant Street, Beverly at 1 P.M. All will be welcomed to a luncheon in the church hall immediately following the service. Joyce was very excited that her long term primary physician was headed to Africa to open a medical mission. She was also grateful to Seacoast Hospice for all their fine care.
