Obituary

LOWELL—Anna J. (McDermott) Hogan, 96 years old, died Tuesday morning at Lowell General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Hogan.

She was born in Lowell, on September 1, 1906, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Catherine (Morgan) McDermott, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public School System.

Mrs. Hogan had been employed as a Machine Operator by the Ames Worsted Company, of Lowell. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and held membership in the Blessed Virgin Sodality of that parish, the League of Catholic Women and the Oblate Mission Club.

Surviving her are a son: Joseph P. Hogan, of Dracut; a daughter: Patricia A. Laurent, of Lowell; four grandchildren: Patricia Ann Laurent, of Lowell; Louise P. Caron, of Lowell; Joanne Campbell, of Dracut, and Joseph D. Hogan, connected with the Department of State; three great-grandchildren: Michaelagh Rose Campbell, Shannon Catherine Campbell, both of Dracut; Natalia Jordan Caron, of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Shelia Hogan and the mother-in-law of the late Louis P. Laurent.

Friends may call Wednesday, October 30th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Thursday, October 31st at 9 AM at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
