Doris R. (Richards) Greenhalgh Hurley, 82, of Salem, NH, died Saturday, March 10th at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Derry, NH after a long illness.
She was born and educated in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. For many years she was a mortgage officer with the Lawrence Savings Bank.
In 1967 she was widowed by the death of her first husband Stanley A. Greenhalgh, late of Salem. Mr. Greenhalgh was a journalist for the Boston Globe and Lawrence Eagle Tribune.
In 1987 she was married to William Hurley formerly of Scituate, Massachusetts. The couple lived in Salem, NH and Stuart, Florida.
She is survived by her husband William, two daughters and their husbands, Amy and Ronald Bizeur of Salem, NH, Ann and Mark Nault of Baltimore, Maryland and four step-children, Patricia Wood of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Janet Mahanna of Rockland, Massachusetts, John Hurley of Weymouth, Massachusetts and Thomas Hurley of Hampton, NH. Combined, the couple have thirteen grandchildren.
Arrangements:
Viewing hours will be held Tuesday morning March 13, 2007 from 9:00 to 10:30 at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew’s Church, Windham, NH at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
