WORCESTER____Christine A. (Kulesza) Smolsky, 89, of Massasoit Road, died Saturday March 10 in her home. Her husband, Joseph Smolsky died in 1978, a daughter, Elizabeth A. DeSalvio died in 2004.
She leaves a son-in-law, John DeSalvio of Worcester and several nephews and nieces including Joan Brigham of Worcester; Nancy Keenan of Sutton and Stanley Kulesza of Spencer. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Frank and Julia (Grabowski) Kulesza and lived here all her life. Christine would have celebrated her 90th birthday on March 30th.
Mrs. Smolsky worked for several years during World War II at Matthews Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and enjoyed cooking, baking, praying and making novenas.
The funeral will be held on Monday March 12, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Monday March 12 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
