Obituary

FRANKLIN: Victor C. DeBaggis 80, of Franklin, died Saturday March 10, 2007 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Molly (Holohan) DeBaggis.
Born in Franklin, September 4, 1926, he was a son of the late Agostino and Giulia (Patete) DeBaggis. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
He was educated in Franklin schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1944.
Mr. DeBaggis served in the United States Army during WW11.
After returning home to Franklin he went to work for over 20 years in the family business, the former DeBaggis & D’Errico Bakery, he then went onto work for the Baronet Coffee Suppliers of Connecticut where he worked as a sales representative. He also worked for many years to maintain St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, and also worked as a supervisor in the kitchen at the former Wrentham State School.
He was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, a member of the Scared Heart Council Knights of Columbus #1847,the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons, and was a volunteer for many years for the St. Rocco’s festival in Franklin.
His interests included traveling to Ireland and England, bowling and he also sang in the chorus of different musicals that were held in the 1970’s at the church.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by his brother Vincent J. DeBaggis of Franklin. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Adeilo, Natalino, Mario, Agostino, Fred, Emilio, Anselmo, Alexander, Michelina, Quinto and Vincenza, and Florence DeBaggis, and Erminia Manocchio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday March 13, 2007 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Sq. at 9AM. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday March 12, from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
