Carolyn Marie Stone Forehand, 83, of Tifton, died Friday, March 9, 2007 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church. Dr. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith, III will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Judge John D. Crosby, Judge Gary McCorvey, Sheriff Gary Vowell, Roy F. Rankin Esquire, Buddy Forehand and Glenn Forehand will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 11, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Forehand was born on April 21, 1923 in Birmingham, Alabama and was the daughter of Charles Stone and Blanche Hughes Stone, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Judge of Superior Court, Tifton, Judicial Circuit, William Jesse Forehand, who died September 23, 2002. She was an artist, homemaker, and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church; president of the Camelia Garden Club; president of the Tifton Art Association and a member of the American Legion. She had lived in Tifton since 1956.
Ms. Forehand is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law: Susan and Benjamin Dover of Marietta and Blanche Emila Forehand of Augusta; one grandchild, William J. Echols of Birmingham, Alabama; and four step-grandchildren, Patrick Dover, Adam Dover, Eric Dover and Courtney Dover.
