Obituary

On February 26, 1938, Samuel Henry and Hattie Mae Tiller became the proud parents of a daughter, whom they named Hattie Ann. She was born in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama.

“A Time To Live and Learn”
Hattie confessed Belief in Christ at an early age and united with Saint James Primitive Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL where she found what it was God wanted of her, God Wants Us To Love Him; God Wants Us To Serve Him; God Wants Us To Trust Him; God Wants Us To Seek Him. He gives power to the weak; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Isaiah 40:29 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 Hattie served faithfully, patiently, devotedly and lovingly her God, humanity, family and much-loved church. She ended her spiritual journey at Saint James Primitive Baptist Church.

“A Time To Love”
During the process of Hattie Ann’s life cycle, she met her love, John Ed Stone. They were united in holy matrimony on December 12, 1955.

“A Time To Rest”
Her earthly journey ended March 2, 2007 at approximately 9:32 p.m., where a life in eternity began. Hattie was preceded in death by one brother, James Tiller, three sisters, Mammie Linear, Rebecca Smith, Dillia Petty-Keith.

“Clinging To Her Legacy”
The cherished legacy of Mrs. Hattie Stone continues to live through: one daughter, Joyce Lavern Veasley-Warren, Huntsville, Alabama; five sons: John Anthony Stone, Rudolph Stone, Ronnie Stone, Timothy Smith all of Huntsville, Alabama, and Andre Pierre Stone of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Stone and one son-in-law, Carlo Warren, and eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Sandra Ray Tiller and Bessie Mae Draper and two brother, Johnnie Preston Tiller and Donald Tiller, two brothers-in-law: James Draper of Huntsville, Alabama and Sylvester Stone of Atlanta, Georgia and five sisters-in-law: Lillie Coppins, of Huntsville, Alabama and Ernestine Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, Corrine Brock of Detroit Michigan, Rosa Lee Stone of Tennessee and Lavada Tiller of Huntsville, Alabama and five aunts and five uncles all of Tennessee.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Stone will be held Saturday (March 10, 2007) at 1:00 p.m. at the Saint James Primitive Baptist Church, with Pastor Billy Jones Officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens – Huntsville. Mrs. Stone will be available for viewing at the church one hour prior to funeral time.
