WORCESTER-Constance A. “Connie” (Bodwell) Heman, of Worcester, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, March 8th, in her home. She is survived by her husband and partner of 52 years, Robert J. Heman Jr.; her children, Roberta Fisher and her husband Mark of Herndon, VA, Dawn Milewski and her husband William of Spencer, and Kevin Jay Heman and his wife Maryann of Princeton; a sister, Kaye Okimoto-Kleinberg of Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Dianah, Timothy, Robert, Kelcey, MacKenzie, Kevin Jr. and Carly; and 3 cherished great grandchildren, Elyse, James B. and Maeve.
Constance was born in Jefferson, NH, the daughter of Avery and Stella (Walker) Bodwell and was a graduate of Lancaster (NH) High School and New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She became a Registered Nurse and worked at her profession for many years before becoming co-owner of Acme Blue Print Company, Inc. where she worked until her death. She was a member of the Worcester Auburn Emblem Club #51. Her most enjoyable times were those spent with her husband, children and grandchildren, with their company, accomplishments and interests. She spent many enjoyable hours traveling. Making friends was her treasured desire and she was a woman of warmth, charm, good humor and great devotion to her family.
The funeral is Monday, March 12th, with a service at 10:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, March 11th, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
