Phyllis Y. Sapp, 60, of Derry, NH, died Friday, March 9, 2007 in Penacook Place in Haverhill, MA. Phyllis was born in Washington, DC on February 23, 1947, a daughter of George Leonard and the late Louie (Pearson) Leonard. She was a resident of Derry since 1980, formerly living in Massachusetts and Washington, DC. She received her Bachelors in History at Framingham State University. Phyllis was employed as a school teacher at the Gilbert H. Hood Middle School in Derry for 14 years. She loved gardening and enjoyed yard sales and antique furniture.
In addition to her father of Englewood, NJ; she is survived by her husband, J. Edwin Sapp of Derry; one daughter, Jennifer Sapp of Derry; two sons, Joel Sapp of Burlington, VT and Jason Sapp of Derry; two grandchildren, Alysa Rose and Isaiah Brandon; one brother, Kenneth Leonard of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Louise Campbell and "Ollie" Rose Ware, both of Washington, DC; also by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends called on Tuesday, March 13th from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral and burial arrangements were handled by Marshall's Funeral Homes in Washington, DC.
