Edmond D. LaPlante, 62, of 212 South Main St. died December 4, 2001 in the Hospice House in Concord. He was born in Franklin NH on February 5, 1939, the son of Alcide and Marie Anne (Pelletier) LaPlante. He attended St. Mary Grammar School and Franklin High School. He has resided in Laconia since 1961.
Prior to illness forcing his retirement, he had been employed as a straightner by the Wyman-Gorden Co. of Northfield for more than 35 years. Edmond served in the Army form 1962-1964.
Mr. LaPlante was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish and was a member of the Wilkins-Smith Post #1 American Legion of Laconia. He was an avid candlepin bowler and was member in the mixed doubles league at Funspot. He enjoyed working on small engine repairs on lawn mowers and snow blowers.
Family members include his wife of 40 years, Gisele (Bilodeau) LaPlante of Laconia; two sons, David E. LaPlante of Laconia and Denis E. LaPlante of Belmont; two grandchildren, David Joseph LaPlante of Waldoboro, ME and Nicole Marie LaPlante of Laconia; a brother, Ernest LaPlante and his wife Julie of Allenstown NH; three sisters, Mrs. David (Regina) Bouvier of Carrabassett, ME, Mrs. Stephen (Gloria) Zogopoulos of Goffstown NH and Mrs. Joseph (Rita) Quinn of Concord NH; two aunts, an uncle several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia Friday from 6 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave on Saturday at 11 AM..Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
