Leo J. Sullivan Jr. a forty-five year resident of Easton, passed away on Sunday March 4, 2007 at the New England Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton. He was 72 years old. He was the beloved husband of Joanne M. (Riordan) Sullivan, to whom he was married to for fifty years.
Born June 1, 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Leo J. Sullivan Sr. and Lucinda M. (Westcott) Sullivan. He attended Canton Public Schools and was also a graduate of Taber Academy.
Mr. Sullivan was a Veteran of The Korean War Era and proudly served with the United States Air Force. He retired with the Rank of E-4 and Radio Mechanic. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and later became a Technical Instructor and was able to attain The Air Force Airman Instructor Of The Month Award in the year 1958.
After returning from military duty Mr. Sullivan was employed as a sub-contractor with the Honeywell Corporation for 25 years. He was also the proud owner of his own Contracting business Sullivan Construction.
Affectionately known as "The Boss" by family and friends, Mr. Sullivan was a member and had attended Holy Cross Church in Easton. He was a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop #54 in Easton. He enjoyed fishing, Antique Cars, Antique Tractors and Travelling. He also enjoyed spending time in his workshop collecting and repairing clocks of all types.
Besides his wife, Mr. Sullivan is survived by his three children, Leo J. Sullivan III and his wife Donna of Arizona, Michael J. Sullivan and his wife Carol of Raynham and Cindy A. Sullivan and her husband Stephen Bobo of Easton. He is also survived by his brother, Tim Sullivan and his wife Lois of Halifax and his two grandchildren, Allyce C. Sullivan and her husband Peri Tiemo of Taunton and Justin Bobo (USAF) of Texas.
At his families request, funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to The New England Sinai Hospital Foundation, 150 York Street, Stoughton, MA 02072 in Leo’s memory, would be appreciated.
