Joseph B. Cooper, 61, of Coventry passed away, Wednesday, March 7, 2007, peacefully with family at his side after a long struggle with cancer. He grew up in the Greenville area, the son of the late Edmund G. Cooper and the late Mary Rita (Carroll) Cooper Atwell. Joe was the former husband of the late Marilyn (Larsen) Cooper. Growing up, he was active in the Boy Scouts. Joe was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of West Warwick. Joe was a mechanic for many years, having owned and managed several service stations in the area. He was also employed as an aircraft mechanic for a number of years at North Central State Airport in Lincoln. Joe was a past member of the 107th Signal Co. of the RI National Guard. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Joe is survived by a very close and supportive family, his four sons, Joseph and his wife Shantel, Jonathan, Geoffrey and Jeremy, as well as 3 grandchildren, Briana, Megan and Jessica and his five brothers and sisters, Edmund G. Cooper, Jr., Andrea Gledhill, Diane Cardillo, Donna Carlson and Mary Ann Palumbo. He is also survived by his very close and supportive friends of Bill W.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation Friday 4-7pm.
