David P. McCleary, 46, passed away suddenly at his home in Medford on March 6th, 2007. He is the son of James J. and Evelyn P. (Rice) McCleary of Medford; the brother of James McCleary and his wife Valerie of Topsfield, Roger McCleary and his wife Marybeth of Salem, NH and Cathy DeSimone and her husband Edward of Malden. He is also the uncle of Stacey, Andrea, Eddy, Erin, Elizabeth, Patrick, Kristen, and Trisha. He is also survived by his favorite aunt Mildred Murphy of Stoneham and his uncle Walter Rice of South Carolina. He was born on May 7th, 1960 and has resided in Medford his entire life. After graduating from Medford High School in 1978, David started working at Johnny’s Foodmaster in Medford. He remained a faithful employee for over 28 years. More recently, he worked at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall in Malden where he was also a member and past president of the organization. He is a past president of the Malden Organization of Clubs. David was also a long time member of the Irish American Club in Malden and the Lodge of Elks in Malden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford on Saturday March 10th at 10 AM. Relatives & friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM.
