Carl R. Brouse age 50 a life long resident of Salem, NH, died on Sunday at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a brief illness.
He was born in Methuen, MA, grew up and was educated in Salem, NH, and graduated from Salem High School.
Mr. Brouse worked as a greenskeeper for Crystal Springs Golf Course in Haverhill, MA. He was also a gifted guitarist and songwriter, whose songs were sung and recorded by such artists as K.D. Lang, Amos Garret, Cindy Church, and Shaun Colvin. In the late 1970s, his album “American Hotel”, a tribute to American songwriter Steven Foster, was release, and produced by Stu Cook, the original drummer for Creedance Clearwater Revival. Mr. Brouse later toured as a guitarist with Canadian singer-songwriter Ian Tyson.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Following the mass will be a gathering at the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge, Route 111, Salem, NH.
