Maria Grigore, 82, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mrs. Grigore was born in Buteasca, Romania on February 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Ion and Safta Varzaru. She was a resident of Derry for 17 years, formerly living in Romania. She was a homemaker who loved her family dearly; they were crucial to her and her grandchildren very special. She also enjoyed flowers, singing and poetry. Mrs. Grigore was a member of St. Parascheva Romanian Orthodox Church in Wakefield, MA.
She is survived by a daughter, Elena Horodincu of Derry, a son, Mugurel Grigore of Manchester, NH, two grandchildren, Irina Horodincu-Hilane of Londonderry, NH and Victor Horodincu of Somerville, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, Ion Grigore and also by her brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday, March 8, 2007 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 9th in the funeral home. The burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
