Mrs. Diana M. (Bowes) Spano, of Marshfield, formerly of Medford, beloved wife of Richard A. “Dick” Spano, died at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on Monday, March 5, 2007. She was 48 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on October 28, 1958, she was the beloved daughter of Barbara A. (Hazen) Bowes of Medford and the late Charles Bowes. Diana was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1976.She had been employed as an analyst for insurance companies for many years as well as a manager for the Copeland Street Auto Company. Mrs. Spano was a real family person who kept everyone in contact with each other.
Besides her beloved husband, Richard, she will be sorely missed by her loving mother; Barbara A. (Hazen) Bowes of Medford, cherished sister and brother-in-law; Patti A. and her husband Anthony Tufo of Peabody, dear nieces Nicole, Brianna, Kristina, devoted nephews; Bobby and Michael and step-children; Christine, Richard II and Michael Spano. She was also the sister-in-law of Marilyn McGann of WA and daughter of the late Charles Bowes. Diana is also survived by 4 aunts and 2 uncles.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, March 9, 2007, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were Thursday, March 8, 2007, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
