Roberta E. (Willis) DeStefano, 75, of Yarmouthport died on Monday March 5, 2007 at Cape Regency-A Radius Healthcare Facility in Centerville, MA surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of William DeStefano to whom she was wed to on April 17, 1977.
Born in Walpole, MA on November 27, 1931 she was a dear daughter of the late Lester and Cecile (Conrod) Willis.
She grew up in East Walpole and was a 1949 graduate of Walpole High School. She went on to graduate from the New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing Degree. Later in her life she received her BA in Sociology and Psychology from the Emmanuel College in Boston.
Mrs. DeStefano was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for 27 years prior to her retirement in 1979.
Roberta was a member of the Orthodox Congregational Church in Mansfield. She was also a member of the Alumnae Association at the New England Deaconess Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, tole painting, gardening and spending time with her loving family. Roberta especially enjoyed the winters spent at her home in Jupiter, Florida.
She had made her home on Cape Cod for the past 23 years and was a former longtime resident of Mansfield.
Besides her beloved husband of over nearly 30 years she is survived by her devoted children Nancy S. Kenneally and her husband Daniel of Hull, Gale K. Cummings and her husband Bruce of Norton and Jeffrey H. Thayer of North Adams. She was the sister of the late John C. Willis Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Patrick Kenneally and his wife Andrea, Matthew Kenneally, Jody Kenneally and Daniel Kenneally.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday March 9th at 10:00 A.M. at the Orthodox Congregational Church, 17 West St., Mansfield. A collation will follow the services in the church parlor. Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday March 8th from 3-6 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
