WORCESTER-Rita L. (Grimala) Buxton, 75, of 10 Oak Leaf Circle, died Sunday, October 27th in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a short illness. Her husband of 54 years, Everett E. Buxton died on September 26th. She leaves two sons, Kenneth A. Buxton of Worcester and Thomas P. Buxton of Dudley; two sisters, Barbara Garvin of Washington, NH and Virginia Mathews of Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sons, Michael J. Buxton in 1959 and Richard M. Buxton in 1998.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Nevalsky) Grimala and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Reginald Hinsley. Mrs. Buxton has worked for 13 years in the accounting office at Fallon Clinic. She previously worked at Iandoli’s supermarket for over 20 years. She was a former member of St. Stephen’s and Our Lady of the Rosary churches.
The funeral will be Wednesday, October 30th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ric Buxton Memorial Scholarship Fund at Worcester State College c/o Central Mass Striders, Box 60002, Worcester, MA 01602-0002 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
