Raymond Lee Goddard, Jr., 69, of Tifton died Saturday, February 3, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Carlton Goddard and Rev. Calvin Bobo will officiate with burial to follow at Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha. Pallbearers will be David Apperson, Ken Goddard, Howard Purvis, Clay Griffin, Gerald Mobley and Donald Exum. Honorary pallbearers will be Alford Johnson, Harvey Coker, Hurbert Gray, Cider Bennett, Ricky Peters and Ray Griffin. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 5, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Goddard was born on October 7, 1937 in Tift County and was the son of Raymond Lee Goddard, Sr. and Lunnie Roberts Goddard, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Mr. Goddard is survived by his wife, Myrtle Mobley Goddard of Tifton and one sister, Thelma Apperson of Valdosta.
