Bernice E. Barnes, 90

Bernice E. (MacDonald) Barnes, 90, of Arlington died peacefully on Friday March 2, 2007 at Morton Hospital in Taunton surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late George E. Barnes, Sr.
Born in Medford, MA on May 17, 1916 she was a dear daughter of the late Carmon M. and Gladys M. (Wright) MacDonald.
She grew up in Medford and was educated in Medford schools. Mrs. Barnes was a devoted homemaker to her family and took great pride in the appearance of her home.
A former member of the Congregational Church in Arlington Bernice had resided in Arlington for over 60 years.
She is survived by her devoted children Shirley B. Conniff of Norton, James E. Barnes of Arlington and George E. Barnes, Jr. of Marstons Mills. She was the sister of Roger MacDonald of California and the late Cecil MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, Roy MacDonald, Virginia Knirke, Charlotte Dobson and Eleanor Simonson. Also surviving are her cherished 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was the loving grandmother of the late Sandra L. Bangs.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday March 6th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main Street Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning prior to the services beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
