Obituary

LOWELL—Alice K. (Holden) Fahy, 100 years old, died early Thursday morning at the Palm Manor Nursing Home, in Chelmsford. She was the wife of the late John S. Fahy, who died in 1974.

She was born in Lowell, on December 4, 1906, a daughter of the late William H. and Catherine (Dacey) Holden, and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, and the former Lowell Normal School.

Mrs. Fahy had been employed for over 48 years as a teacher first in Dracut and then in Malden, where she taught for over 44 years. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and held membership in the Holy Rosary Sodality of that parish, and the Massachusetts Retired Teacher’s Association.

Surviving her are a nephew: Frank Roy, of Lowell; and a niece: Barbara Rothwell, of West Roxbury; as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews.

She was the sister of the late James Holden, Charles Holden, and Mabel (Holden) Mahoney, and the aunt of the late John W. Mahoney and Alice H. (Mahoney) Roy.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, March 4th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. Her Funeral Mass to be offered Monday morning, March 5th at 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice, Visiting Nurse Association of Lowell; P.O. Box 1965; Lowell, MA 01853.
