Florence T. (Hampton) Boswell of New Bedford died March 1, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Walsh) Hampton, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Florence was one of the "Hampton Sisters" who worked at the family owned Hampton's Bakery in New Bedford. She also worked at Sig Midttun's Bakery in Fairhaven and New Bedford.
She enjoyed participating in events at Olympia Towers including chorus, quilting and the company of her friends, and was an avid Bingo player at Bishop Stang High School.
Her family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors in the intensive care unit who cared so lovingly for her in the past few weeks.
Survivors include a son, Raymond C. Boswell, Jr., and his wife Linda, of Worcester; a daughter, Jean C. Monty of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Shawna Boswell of Keene, NH, and Catherine Monty and Christine Monty, both of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Margaret Messier and Eleanor Crawford.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Monday, March 5th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM.
