John Michael Lynch, 45, of New Bedford, died February 26, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Fall River, the son of Carlin F. and Frances M. (Savasta) Lynch of Westport, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life. He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Mr. Lynch was formerly employed as a construction worker for Long Built Homes, and had also been a commercial fisherman.
He loved sports, his Irish heritage and his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, James F. Lynch of E. Greenwich, RI; four sisters, Carline Lynch of Dartmouth, Elizabeth Lynch Paul of Lincoln, RI, Mary Delaney of Rehoboth, and Anne Denise Goodman of Westport; 14 nieces and nephews; and his friend, Lee Houle of New Bedford.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
