Clifford S. "Skip" Silveira, 72, of Mattapoisett died February 26, 2007 accidentally at home.
He was the husband of Janice E. (Gallant) Silveira.
Born in Mattapoisett, the son of the late Francis E. and Elona M. (Smith) Silveira, he lived in Mattapoisett all of his life.
Mr. Silveira was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.
He was formerly employed as an operating engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #4 for over 28 years until his retirement. Mr. Silveira always enjoyed farming and continued farming in his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, quahoging and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert W. Silveira, and his wife Kathleen, of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Rebecca A. Nye, and her husband Christopher, of Marion; 3 brothers, Charles J. Silveira, Francis H. Silveira and Timothy M. Silveira, all of Mattapoisett; 2 sisters, Nancy J. Olsen of Mattapoisett and Sally R. Scudellari of Springfield; 5 grandchildren, Nichole, Jennifer, Christopher, Jr., Randall and Glen.
He was the father of the late John F. Silveira and brother of the late Dorothy L. Gaspar and Allen T. Silveira.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Saturday, March 3rd, at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, March 2nd from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Clifford's name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
