David Jess Brooks, 33, of Omega, died Monday, February 26, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Wayne Boykin will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Golden, Ricky Perry, Nikki Newbern, Mark Erskin, Wayne Scarbor and Jason Hawkins. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2007, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Brooks was born on March 26, 1973 in Tift County and was the son of Harvey Brooks of Omega and Phyllis Bennett Dartlone of Louisiana. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks is survived by two sisters, Jill Dartlone and Haley Dartlone, both of Louisiana; and a special friend, Susan Stevens of Omega.
