Obituary

WORCESTER____Josephine E. (Bibik) Ford, 89, of 84 June St., died Sunday October 27, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, 119 Belmont St. Monday October 28th would have been her 90th birthday.

Her husband, Peter J. Ford died in 1985.

She leaves several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, William V. Bibik of Salem, New Hampshire; and a sister, Helen I. Pakula of Shrewsbury. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Ignatius W. and Anna (Sutkaitis) Bibik and lived in Worcester for most of her life.

Mrs. Ford was a bookkeeper 40 years for P.J. Ford Electric Co., and retired in 1982. Before then she was a clerk 16 years for B & W Bus Lines at Salem Square and previously was a clerk at Drake Candies for 1 1/2 years. She also owned and operated Imperial Market at 16 Pleasant St., from 1939 to 1944.Mrs. Ford was graduated from Becker Junior College.

She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and was a member and past treasurer of its Ladies Guild. She was a member of Our Lady of Providence Guild and was a volunteer worker for 25 years at St. Vincent Hospital on Winthrop St., where she worked the reception desk. She received a medal and was honored for giving 15,000 volunteer hours.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday October 30, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St.,with a Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday October 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St., Worcester, 01610.
