Obituary

DRACUT – James E. Farrell, 72 a resident of Dracut died Saturday February 24th at his home. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Marsh) Farrell to whom he was married for 48 years.

He was born in Somerville, MA, August 26, 1934, son of the late James H. and Evelyn M. (Thibedeau) Farrell. He was raised and educated in Tewksbury.

Mr. Farrell worked at Brandeis University in Waltham as a maintenance worker for twenty five years until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Francis Church in Dracut, the Tewksbury-Wilmington Lodge of Elks, and the Wilmington Lions Club. He also enjoyed camping, square dancing, and Crackers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Christopher E. Farrell and his wife Donna M. of Hudson, NH, two daughters Maureen F. Graham and her husband Paul E. of Dracut and Theresa M. Wentzell and her husband Dereck of Pelham, NH, seven grandchildren Keith, Nicole, Amanda, Krystal, and Cynthia Graham, Dereck Wentzell, and Matthew McEachern, a great granddaughter Julia Rogers, a beloved sister Alice Golen and her husband Walter of Tewksbury, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Barbara Ellsworth.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 AM followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Francis Church, Dracut. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Lowell General Cancer Memorial Fund, 295 Varnum Ave, Lowell, MA 01854.
