NEW BEDFORD - Elizabeth Ann (Hackett) Paiva, 73, of 4499 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford, died Wednesday at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital. She was the widow of Arthur Paiva. She is survived by One Son: Arthur Paiva Jr. of Michigan; Four Daughters: Cheryl Paiva of Dartmouth, MA, Carol Lee Paiva of San Francisco, CA, Deborah Paiva of San Diego, CA, Cindy Paiva of Seattle, WA; One Brother: John Joseph Hackett of North Carolina; Two Sisters: Dorothy May Garliepp of Hawaii, Mary Frances Simons of Lake Tahoe, CA; Several Grandchildren & Several nieces and nephews.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John Hackett and the late Mary Ellen (Hayes) Hackett. She was a resident of New Bedford for the past 7 years, previously living in Fall River. Before retiring, she worked in Scholastic schools in Boston. She was a Proof reader and wrote commercials at W.A.L.E. radio station. She was a former member of St. Michael Church.
Her funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Monday at 12:00 Noon. Wake Monday from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Michael Church, 189 Essex St., Fall River, MA.02720.
