Obituary

WORCESTER-Spyridon M. Ganas, 73, of 2 Columbine Road, died Sunday, October 27th in his home after an illness. He leaves his wife of 54 years Angeliki (Karagiannis) Ganas, 2 sons; Christos and Stavros Ganas both of Shrewsbury, a daughter Helen Ganas-Sioutis of Worcester, 2 brothers; John Ganas of Tsamanta, Greece and Andrew Ganas of Cotuit, and 4 grandchildren.

He was born in Tsamanta, Greece the son of Michael and Eleni (Matsis) Ganas, and had lived in Worcester since 1954. Mr. Ganas had served in the Greek military from 1950 until 1952. Mr. Ganas had owned and operated Natick Pizza, retiring 10 years ago. He previously had been a baker for Table Talk Pie Company. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Order of A.H.E.P.A. in Marlboro, and was vice-president for the St. George Hellenic Tsamanta Society.

The funeral will be Wednesday, October 30th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 29th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
