Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Judith E. “Judy” McGann, 63 years, died Tuesday evening at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Boston, the daughter of Eleta (Perry) Hartel and the late James Hartel. She was raised in South Boston, was a graduate of Nazareth High School Class of 1961 and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 35 years. While raising her five sons, she attended Southeastern Regional Vocational High School where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She had been employed as a nurse at the Brockton VA Medical Center, St. Joseph Manor, Lutheran Nursing Home and for the past 12 years had been at BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Judy enjoyed time at the beach, especially Nantasket, yearly trips to Nantucket, dining out, watching movies and walks in the mall and on the beach.
She is survived her husband John H. McGann, five sons Richard Hartel and his wife Cheryl of Weymouth; Phillip Hartel and his wife Maria of RI; Christopher Pugh of Brockton; Jamie Pugh of Taunton and Justin Pugh of Brockton, her stepchildren Jennifer Dolloff of NH; Heather Hallisey of Brockton and Shaun McGann of NH, ten grandchildren and her mother Eleta M. Hartel of So. Boston.
