Obituary

Robert J. Hogan,81,of Hillcrest Avenue in Greenville, a Providence Fireman for 20 years retiring in 1969, died Tuesday peacefully with his wife by his side, at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the husband of Helena E. (Meszkinis) Hogan.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Christopher & Mary (Farrell) Hogan, he had been a resident of Greenville since 1972.
He had also been an employee with the Smithfield Highway Department before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Smithfield Lodge of Elks, #2359, the Smithfield Democratic Town Committee, and the Providence Retired Police & Fire Assoc. He was an avid golfer, a member of Triggs Golf Course, RIGA and Valley Country Club where he shot a hole in one. He was an Air Force Veteran of WWII.
Besides his wife he is survived by his brothers John M. Hogan of Coventry, his twin brother Richard W. Hogan of Greenville, Edward F. Hogan of West Melbourne, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas C. Hogan.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 5-7pm.
