Ruth A. (Johnson) Piva, 84, of Quincy died February 20, 2007 at Hancock Park Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late John Piva.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ralph C. and Ruth E. (Noyer) Johnson, she lived in New Bedford most of her life before moving to Quincy in 2000.
She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Mrs. Piva was formerly employed as a cashier in the cafeteria at New Bedford High School until her retirement.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing and quilting.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Kenneth J. Piva, and his wife Donna, of North Dartmouth; a daughter, Sharlene A. Gordon of Quincy; a brother, Alan Johnson of Pennsylvania; a sister, Priscilla Murray of Vermont; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Betty Gardzina, Barbara August, Ralph C. Johnson and Elmer C. Johnson.
