Mr. Sam L. Patton, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Patton was a native Huntsvillian who owned several of his own businesses in the Huntsville area. He was an active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church for over 65 years where he served faithfully until his health failed.
Mr. Patton leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Aline Baskin Epps of Chesapeake, VI and Monique Mitchell of Silver Springs, MA; two sisters, Queen Esther Ewing of Huntsville and Christine Sammons of Louisville, KY; thirteen grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Patton will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday from the First Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Julius R. Scruggs officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home handling the services. The remains of Mr. Patton will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time. The Patton family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday from the funeral home.
